A feature page is added for Ballater. The Bookshop is greatly expanded to provide a much wider choice of books about all things Scottish. It is also updated to carry recently revised Ordnance Survey Landranger 1:50,000 maps, together with the new series of Ordnance Survey Explorer 1:25,000 maps. The feature page for the Corran Ferry is updated to show the new ferry, and to give fares and ferry times.

New Links Pages are added for watersports (including sailing, cruising and fishing) and photography. The free Windows Wallpaper area has a selection of 1024x768 images added, together with many new 800x600 images. Feature pages are added for: St Andrews Castle, Ben Vrackie near Pitlochry, Stirling, Braemar, Glenfiddich Distillery, Balvenie Castle, Elgin Cathedral, Spynie Palace, Ballachulish, Pitlochry, and Blair Atholl. The Isle of Skye area grows new pages and a map. A new area is added for Banff, complete with feature pages for Banff, Cullen, and Findochty.
Accommodation and business pages throughout the site are updated for the 2001 season, resulting in many more links and still more comprehensive coverage in all parts of Undiscovered Scotland. The Map Index is revised to provide much more detailed maps that now include material from the previously separate Mountain and Visitor Attraction indexes. A new area is added covering Luss and Drymen, with accompanying Feature Pages for Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond and the Maid of the Loch. Feature pages are also added for Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem, Plockton, Kenmore, Rannoch Station and Ben Lawers & Beinn Ghlas.
A new area is added as the home of golf, St Andrews, comes to Undiscovered Scotland. The new year also brings a completely new section to the site: the Bookshop providing a wide selection of books and maps on Scottish subject.
