Star Hotel. Located above the ferry terminal in South Uist and overlooking the
harbour, Lochboisdale Hotel has amazing views across the Minch to Canna and
Rum. Historically a sporting hotel, the building dates to the 1860s and retains
many charming original features. Guest accommodation is in large en-suite rooms
ranging from generous singles, doubles and twins through to a huge family room
which sleeps five in comfort. Open to residents and non-residents, the hotel
restaurant offers an extensive menu including some of the finest sea food
available on the island. All meals are cooked fresh and feature the best local
produce. Music sessions are spontaneous most nights and there is a regular
session every fortnight where local people come together and play and catch up
with their favourite tunes. Guests are welcome to join in or just soak up the
Gaelic atmosphere. Lochboisdale Hotel also offers free WiFi. Open all year.
