Mummies at National Museum of Scotland An unmissable exhibition of
treasures from the world-famous Egyptology collections of the Rijksmuseum van

Showaddywaddy
at Strathpeffer Pavilion One of the top groups of the 1970s, Showaddywaddy
are still going strong. They sold out on their last visit to the Pavilion - the

Whisky
Stramash This event aims to challenge the traditional 'stuffy'
whisky-associated events and promises to be full of mystery, entertainment,
comicality and madcap pioneering. Featuring molecular experiments, murder
mystery, an insight into the gruesome lives of barber surgeons and whiskies
from around the world, this is a must for all whisky enthusiasts. At Edinburgh
Surgeons' Hall, Nicholson Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9DW. Held over 3 sessions: on
Saturday from Noon to 4pm and 5pm and 9pm and on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm at

Shakespeare Festival 2012 Traquair House plays host to a weekend of
Elizabethan treats and activities including falconry, jousting, jesters and of

- 2 June:
The
Perth Kilt Run The Perth Kilt Run, Scotland, is a world record breaking
attempt to set a new record for the world's largest kilt race. Part of the
Queen's Diamond Jubilee Day Celebrations in Perth, Scotland, the largest kilt
race was officially achieved by 1,089 participants at the Perth Kilt Run in
Perth, Ontario, Canada, on 26 June 2010. Rising to the challenge, Perth is set
to attract over 2000 runners to surpass the existing record this June. The
event is a 5 mile fun run and open to anyone aged 15 years or over. The Run
commences at 2pm. Entry costs £10 per entrant, Kilt Hire £24 (Kilt

Queen's Diamond Jubilee Day Celebrations at North Inch, Perth This promises
to be a fantastic, free event for all the family in the heart of Scotland's

Day at Scone Palace Enjoy a great day out by bringing a picnic and joining
in the Jubilee Day celebrations in the Palace grounds, with live music on the
lawns and Jubilee-themed cakes and goodies on the menu. Special Jubilee

and Champions at Moray Art Centre Summer blockbuster exhibition celebrating
three hundred years of the inspiration of Classical Greece on Britain,
featuring historic Greek works borrowed from the British Museum and the

Streets
The Musical Streets is a contemporary musical featuring an
entirely original score from young, Scottish writer & composer Finn
Anderson. Gritty, fast-paced and hard-hitting the story follows a group of
young people and their descent into the dangerous world of street crime and
gang rivalry. Streets is an exciting, emotional and entertaining
piece combining musical theatre, drama and physical theatre to explore young
love, the want for something more and the power of peer pressure and addiction.
The show is in Dundee for one night only! Adults £11, Students £7.

WaterAid
200 Mountain Challenge This challenge aims to see 2,000 people on top of
all 200 mountains across the UK and Ireland that have been nominated by
WaterAid supporters. We are encouraging participants to get together in teams
of 4-7 walkers and each team taking part in the challenge is asked to raise

- 16 & 17 June:
The
Rock Trust's 21st Birthday Charity Fundraiser is calling on an army of
supporters to climb every Munro - all 284 mountains over 3000' - in Scotland
over 2 days. The Trust hopes to raise over £60,000 to invest in a new
supported unit where young people can learn the skills needed live

Jubilee
Forest Festival at Scone Palace Taking place in a marquee in the Palace
grounds, visitors will be able to enjoy a weaving demonstration by the
nationally acclaimed willow sculptor Trevor Leat, see a mobile sawmill in
action, view exhibitions by woodturners, craftworkers, wood sculptors and
furniture-makers, take part in children's activities including face painting
and tuck into a BBQ and other 'al fresco' dining options. The Festival takes
place from 10am to 4pm each day. Grounds only admission fee applies of

in a summer-long programme of activities recreating the lives of our
prehistoric ancestors. Every day, children and their families can all lend a
hand in constructing a prehistoric encampment and learn skills essential for
prehistoric living. There's a shelter and fences to be build, crops to plant,
and livestock to tend. And between all of this hard work there's need to make
fire, prepare food, make clothing and bedding, and even go hunting. Open daily
from 10am to 5pm. Admission costs £5.50 for adults, £4 for children

The
2012 Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp A yomp is the term used by
soldiers for a long distance march carrying their full kit. However, the
Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp offers challenges and surprises including archery,
clay pigeon shooting and adventurous activities along the way. An event
for everyone, yompers can go for the bronze at 22 miles, silver at 36.5 miles
or the ultimate - gold challenge - at 52 miles. The 2012 Yomp starts at
Blairgowrie and leads teams of 3-6 people through Kirkmichael, Spittal of
Glenshee and Kirton of Glenisla with checkpoints and support teams on hand
along the way. The event costs £110 per person. Money raised will go to
The Soldiers Charity and The Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust.

Highland Games In the grounds of Inveraray Castle with field and track
events, piping and Highland dancing competitions and 'heavy events' including
the world championships for tossing the caber. The games start with a pipe band

80's
Rewind Festival at Scone Palace The hugely successful 80's Festival returns
as Scotland's largest boutique music and camping festival at Scone Palace this

entertainment; Funfairs and Fireworks, Street Entertainers and Kidzone, Theme
Bars, Food Courts, Traders, Silent Disco and Live Karaoke bars along with

Now Tour comes to Glasgow Green A concert featuring the biggest artists
from the 1980s, will take music lovers down memory lane as a cast list of seven
pop icons take to the stage. Paul Young will get heart rates racing when he
performs his massive number one hit, 'Wherever I lay my hat', while Rick
Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up' will get the crowd on their feet. Others

Orchid
Festival at Scone Palace Orchid enthusiasts and keen gardeners will be
heading for Scone as the Palace hosts its annual Orchid Festival this month.
The festival will include displays by some of the UK's most prestigious orchid
nurseries and suppliers, and plants will be available for purchase during the
weekend. As well as enjoying the stunning displays, visitors will be able to
listen to talks by experts on the art of orchid growing each day. The Festival
of Orchids will take place from 9.30am to 5pm each day. Grounds Only admission

Black
Beauty at Scone Palace A spectacular open-air theatrical production of the
iconic book Black Beauty. Produced by award-winning BBC Playwright Susannah

The
Farming Yesteryear Rally at Scone Palace The Scottish Vintage Tractor and
Engine Club Farming Yesteryear and Vintage Rally 2012, will be held at Scone
Palace Parklands. Vintage tractors, stationary engines, steam engines and
agricultural machinery will be on display, together with vintage cars, lorries
and other vehicles. There will be working demonstrations of vintage
agricultural machinery including ploughing, combining and threshing, plus trade

Best
of the West Food, Drink & Music Festival This free, family friendly
festival will highlight the best in food, drink, crafts, music and
entertainment from the West of Scotland. At Inveraray Castle from 11am to 8pm

Inveraray each evening.

Happenings at Almond Valley Heritage Centre As the days grow shorter,
strange creatures begin to emerge from the the darkest and scariest corners of
the old mill and farm buildings. Encounter unearthly creatures on a trail of
terror, collect the clues and claim a small prize for your bravery. Join in
with creepy crafts and gruesome games, and have a spine-tingling good time.

Hallowe'en Weekend at Scone Palace Come along and enjoy some spooky

tell spooky tales from Scotland's history. 20 minute performances will take

Research Christmas Fair at Scone Palace Enjoy browsing around the Christmas
stalls set throughout the Palace's State Rooms. There will be lots of wonderful
gifts, cards, decorations and speciality foods which have been especially
selected for their originality, quality and craftsmanship. It's the perfect
opportunity to do your Christmas shopping and if you join us on the Monday
evening you can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine on arrival. On 26 November
from 4pm to 8.30pm, entrance is £6 including a glass of wine. On 27
November from 10am to 4pm, entrance is £4. The Servants' Hall Coffee Shop
will be open on both dates as will the Gift Shop. Entry fee payable on
arrival.

at Almond Valley Heritage Centre Jolly old Santa is at home in his farmyard
cottage handing out early Christmas presents. Join in Christmas crafts, meet
the animals in a special winter scene and enjoy the magic of a traditional
Christmas. Open daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission costs £5.50 for adults,
£4 for children aged 3-17 years and senior citizens. Almond Valley
