The Tron occupies a prime location on the south side of Hunter Square, whose north side is dominated by the Tron Kirk, after which it was named.

This is a large pub on three levels. There is a bar on the ground floor, and another one in the basement. There is also a function/performance area two floors below ground level.

Some years ago it was converted to become part of the "It's a Scream" chain, pubs designed to appeal directly to the student/backpacker market (complete with student discounts). If you are part of the target market you'll probably find this a great place to be: if you aren't, then you may not - but there's no shortage of other places to drink in this part of Edinburgh!
