![]() The Saltire |
The Saltire is an attractive street corner pub towards the east end of Rose Street. As with many Rose Street pubs there are pavement tables outside from which you can watch the world go by.

Inside is a largely open plan wood floored main bar, with the bar itself on one side. There's a little padded seating around the sides, but for the most part accommodation is at the wooden tables scattered across the available space.

Those who haven't been to Edinburgh for a while might remember The Saltire as Paddy's Bar, a well known feature on Rose Street for many years. Others will remember the rather shorter lived Fling and Firkin, which is what Paddy's Bar was converted into before finally emerging as the much more fitting Saltire.
