![]() Oz Bar |
The corner of Candlemaker Row and Merchant Street is occupied by the green-painted Oz Bar in a building that still carries lettering showing it was once - long ago - home to "Harvey's Furniture Stores".
As the name suggests, this is an Australian themed pub. This means some imported Australian beers, it means surfboards attached to the ceiling, and it means a corrugated iron "roof" for the bar. It also means plenty of Australian Rules Football on TV.

But the themeing isn't overdone, the interior is spacious and pleasant, and the welcome friendly. Perhaps this helps explain why this Australian theme pub is actually quite popular with the younger members of Edinburgh's Australian community.
