Across Cockburn Street |
The Malt Shovel is an attractive green-painted pub that curves
around the lower end of Cockburn Street as it climbs from the New Town to the
Old.

Internally you find a series of levels, ascending from the bar at
one end through a number of areas of seating. This is not an old pub or a
traditional pub: but it is friendly and comfortable, and well placed for the
railway station and all of Edinburgh's amenities.
