 The
Advocate |
This relatively new building (for the centre of Edinburgh) is home to a large comfortable
pub dividied into a number of discrete (and discreet!) areas by a range of wooden screens, high
backed seating and so on, much of which seems to have had an earlier life in other pubs, now
presumably long gone.

The Advocate started life as the Fiscal & Firkin, before later becoming the Fiscal
and only more recently has it been known as the Advocate, following a makeover that gave the
exterior a rather more sober appearance.
