Set in its own grounds in the pretty village of Portpatrick, Rickwood House overlooks the sea and is located in a quiet spot close to the golf course. An Edwardian house, Rickwood became a hotel in 1959 and has been sensitively modernised over the intervening years, most recently by owners Maggie and Fred Findlay, to provide comfortable, highly appointed guest accommodation. Double, twin and family rooms are available, plus the luxury "Factors Suite". All rooms have en-suite showers (some also have baths) and tea/coffee facilities. Some rooms also have DVD players. Guests are welcome in the conservatory lounge at any time of day and are encouraged to enjoy the garden. A hearty breakfast is served from 8am each morning with lighter alternatives, eg scrambled eggs and locally smoked salmon, always available.
