Plantation Foot, Newton Wamphray, Near Moffat. Located
midway between Lockerbie and Moffat, Plantation Foot is a charming detached
cottage set in its own pretty garden. With accommodation for up to 5 guests,
this traditional stone cottage has been recently refurbished and equipped to
the highest standard. Public rooms include a fully fitted kitchen, a cosy
sitting/dining room with open fire and a family bathroom with both bath and
shower. Plantation Foot has two bedrooms, both doubles, one with an additional
single bed. Garden furniture and a barbeque are provided and there is ample
parking. The cottage is close to the River Annan and permits can be obtained to
fish for its salmon, trout and seatrout. The local hotel is just a short walk
from the door and the Lowther Hills, Eskdalemuir, St Marys Loch and the Solway
coastline are just some of the delights within easy reach by car. From
£245-£350 per week including coal for the fire and all electricity.
