Doune Stone Lodges & Doune Bay Lodge, Doune, Knoydart, PH41 4PL. Nestling between the hills and the shore, Doune Stone Lodges were rebuilt from the ruins of an old cottage. Each has a double or twin room, with two extra beds and an ensuite shower room. The Lodges are fully catered with all meals served in the Doune Dining Room. A very different option is Doune Bay Lodge. Set just 20 metres from its own beach, it has accommodation for up to 14 guests. Holidays in Doune Bay Lodge are also fully catered, or alternatively they can be self catered (winter only) or a combination of both. Boats are available for diving and for access to the Small Isles and remoter parts of Knoydart. Doune Stone Lodges and Doune Dining Room are open April through September, Doune Bay Lodge is open all year. Doune Stone Lodges are £68 per person per night (£408 per week). Loch Shiel House Hotel, Acharacle, PH36 4JL. This charming family run hotel is situated in Acharacle about a 100 metres from the southern tip of Loch Shiel and at the top of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Set above the south end of Mallaig with views to the sea and the islands of Skye, Rum and Eigg, Shalimar offers comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation and the opportunity to do as much or as little as you please. Go fishing, play golf, visit the silver sands of Morar or take the ferry to Skye.
