• Muir of Dinnet NNR Muir of Dinnet is a mosaic of reedbeds, woodland, bogs and heath with Lochs Davan and Kinord at its centre. The Burn O' Vat Visitor Centre is signposted the A93 and the B9119.

• Peel of Lumphanan This great earthwork of 13th-century date was the site of a fortified residence, perhaps a hunting lodge of the Durward family. 0.5m SW of Lumphanan off the A980. (Undiscovered Scotland Feature Page)

• St Mary’s Kirk, Auchindoir One of the finest medieval parish churches in Scotland, roofless, but otherwise entire. Off the A944 between villages of Rhynie and Lumsden on the B9002.
