Undiscovered Scotland is a highly cost-effective way to reach a very large number of potential visitors to Scotland from around the globe. In 2007 we exceeded our forecasts for the year by receiving over 2½ million distinct visitors to the site from 189 countries. And we are on track to exceed 2.7 million distinct visitors to Undiscovered Scotland in 2008.
The 2007 visitor figures reflected a continuation in the steady growth of traffic to Undiscovered Scotland, as illustrated by the numbers of distinct visitors in each of the last five years: over 2.5 million in 2007; over 2.0 million in 2006; over 1.4 million in 2005; over 860 thousand in 2004; and over 550 thousand in 2003.
Another important strength is the large number of Internet sites whose operators feel we are worth linking to, and this also continues to grow. During 2007 we received traffic via active inward links from 17,600 other web sites. This compares with 16,700 web sites with active links to us in 2006; 13,700 in 2005; 8,200 in 2004; and 5,700 in 2003.
But don't take our word for it: find out for yourself. Simply to talk to our existing advertisers about our effectiveness in forwarding traffic to their web sites.
We also have maps available showing the geographic Origin of Visitors to Undiscovered Scotland. This is updated live, so takes a little time to download.
